Degrees

  • English - Creative Writing, B.A. introduces students to fiction, poetry, and non-fiction prose through the appreciation of existing texts as well as the production of their own texts in these three genres. Students learn the craft of writing creatively through the study of theory and the close analysis of their own practice
  • English - Literature, B.A. helps students develop the ability to read discerningly, think critically, and write clearly. The study of literature in its historical, cultural, and theoretical contexts helps to reveal to students the ways of people and society while encouraging the lifelong pleasure to be found in this art form
  • English - Technical Communication, B.A. prepares students to fill the communication needs of the business and scientific community. Students learn how to apply the principles of written, spoken, and visual communication to a wide variety of situations, using state-of-the-art software and hardware in the departmental Technical Writing Laboratory
